Connecting to ClearDB from Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)
Connecting to ClearDB from EC2 is super easy, as ClearDB itself is based in EC2
We provide dedicated MySQL database services for all EC2 regions worldwide. If you’re interested in signing up for a dedicated database cluster in EC2, check out our pricing for more information on the types of database clusters we offer.
So you just purchased a dedicated ClearDB cluster. What’s next?
Once your cluster has been set up and is online, you will receive an email with information on how to get your access credentials to your new cluster. Once you receive your access email, click the link in it and sign into ClearDB. Finally, once you’re in your dashboard for your database, you’ll be immediately taken to the Endpoint Information tab where you can get your MySQL access credentials.
From there, you can use any number of programming languages, such as PHP, Java, C, C++, Ruby, Scala, Clojure, Python, Perl, and many others to access and manage your data for you. You can even use shell scripting with the MySQL command line client if you want.
SSL Security Within EC2
We encrypt all connections between our database servers using MySQL’s SSL support. If you would like to also connect via SSL to our systems, please see our SSL connectivity guide.
